This is mid-way up the eastern side of the Sierra Nevadas along one of my favorite Hwys #395 in California. This is likely to be Mt. Whitney, but I really am not certain. When I am out painting on location, sometimes details like that get lost in the moment. @ 1988
About Donald Maier
Donald Maier graduated from the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Arts, in Newark, New Jersey in 1968. He won several state and local show awards in the early seventies, including 1st place in oils at the Garden State Art Center in 1971, 1st place for Watercolor at the Red Bank Festival of Arts in 1972 and an Honorable Mention in the Emerging Artists exhibit at Rutgers University in 1973. He had numerous one-man shows in both New Jersey, California and Georgia and has exhibited in many fine galleries in California, Scottsdale, Arizona, Santa Fe, New Mexico and Georgia. I liked looking at all of your works, this one spoke to me because I too love the Hwy 395 for the scenery. Your work reminds me of Rex Brandt whom I have been greatly inspired by.
